Before the move
Most questions before a move are about booking, the quote and getting the house ready. The short version: book as early as you can, give a complete furniture list, mention the access at both homes, and empty the furniture before the day.
- For how the quote works and how moving day runs, see furniture removalists in Adelaide.

Red flags when choosing a removalist
Google shows ‘What are red flags with moving companies?’ on most Adelaide removalist searches, so it deserves a straight answer. Be wary of a quote given without questions about your furniture or access, of a price that is not in writing, of anyone who cannot say what insurance they hold, and of pressure to pay in cash or decide on the spot. A careful removalist asks about the big pieces, the stairs and the parking, and puts the quote and its terms in writing.

Questions people ask
How far in advance should I book removalists in Adelaide?
As soon as you know your date. The earlier you book, the more choice you have of day and time, which matters most when you are tied to a settlement or the end of a lease. Moveall takes bookings online in a couple of minutes, or by phone.
Do I need to empty drawers and wardrobes before the removalists arrive?
Yes. Moveall’s terms ask for furniture to be emptied of loose items and for loose items to be packed in cartons. Items left loose may not be moved or may cost extra. If you would rather not do it yourself, ask about Wrap & Pack.
How do you protect furniture in the truck?
Every piece is wrapped in moving blankets before it leaves the room, with stretch wrap over the blanket. In the truck, heavy and square pieces go in first against the walls, lighter and fragile pieces last, and the load is tied off so nothing shifts. Moveall’s Pantech trucks are enclosed, keeping furniture out of the weather.
Will you take apart and rebuild beds and wardrobes?
Tell us at quote time which pieces were assembled in the room or will not fit through a doorway or up the stairs whole. We confirm on your written quote how each of those pieces will be handled. See furniture dismantling and reassembly.
Do you move antique and heavy furniture?
Yes, as part of a household move. Antiques get extra padding and careful handling, and for heavy items such as a piano or a pool table, Moveall’s Supercharge option adds extra team members and specialty equipment. See antique and heavy furniture.
Can you store furniture between settlement dates?
Tell our customer care team both of your dates when you call. We plan the removal around them, including moving your furniture into and out of a storage unit you have booked. See furniture removal and storage in Adelaide.
How is furniture packed for an interstate trip?
Every piece is wrapped in moving blankets all the way round, glass is removed and travels on edge, mattresses go in covers, and loose fittings are bagged and taped to their piece. The load is built from the floor up and tied off in sections. See interstate furniture removalists in Adelaide.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover. Cover for your own belongings in transit is a separate question: ask us about transit insurance when you book, and read the terms on your quote.
What affects the price of a furniture removal?
The amount of furniture and boxes, the truck and crew it needs, the access at both homes, any heavy items, whether you want packing, and the distance. Moveall’s fixed-price quotes rely on the inventory list given at quoting, and items added on the day are charged on top at Moveall’s hourly rate.
Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Yes, with Wrap & Pack: Moveall supplies the boxes and packing materials and its team does the packing.
What should I not pack?
Keep documents, keys, medicines, jewellery, cash and valuables with you. Do not pack anything flammable, gas bottles or fuel. Ask us if you are unsure about an item.
Do I need to be home on moving day?
Someone who knows the house and can make decisions should be there at the start, to walk through it with the crew, and at the new home to show where each piece goes.
Can I pay in instalments?
Moveall accepts Afterpay, along with major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For local moves a deposit confirms the booking and the balance is paid a day or two after the move; for interstate moves, full payment is made on the day.
What do I need to update after moving in South Australia?
Service SA says you must update your address within 14 days of the change; one update covers your driver’s licence and vehicle registrations. Also update your enrolment with the AEC once you have lived at the new address for a month. See the SA change of address rule.
Which suburbs do you cover?
